Janie Hannagan has never had a break. She has no dad and her mom is a hopeless alcoholic, leaving her to support herself working nights at a convalescent hospital. Even so, she works hard at high school hoping that getting into college will change things for her. She keeps to her self because she has to. Janie has dreams, other people’s dreams swimming in her head all the time. She has never gotten close to anyone for fear of them knowing to much. Yet some how someone else knows, someone has started entering her dreams.
