Use Digital Media to Inform Students About Current Events

By nature, our students are curious creatures and will ask lots of questions when tragic events occur in the world. The recent earthquake that rocked the nation of Haiti is one example. The news media is reporting minute by minute updates and broadcasting much of the horrific aftermath that the people of Haiti are currently enduring.
But are you prepared to answer your students' questions?
It is my hope that you and your students will access reputable media sources to retrieve your information. Once such source is the PBS Teacher's website. This great website links ready-to-go lesson plans with digital news media that can be streamed directly to your classroom for free.
